Requirements
Beginning this October, a team of five student-consultants will conduct a test to help you compare the effectiveness of two different messaging strategies for a product or service you would like to promote to determine which one is more effective.
The data that students collect from testing the 2 message variations will enable them to compare the results across two different segments of consumers and develop recommendations for the best type of messaging for you to use in promoting your product/ service.
Example projects include, but are not limited to:
- Comparing the effectiveness of "actual self" (who I am) vs "ideal self" (who I want to be) advertising for an upscale bakery, depending on whether they want to target tourists or local consumers.
- Creating and comparing the effectiveness (number of 'tear aways') of two different versions of a tear away poster.
- Testing two different versions of signage for a charity donation box to measure their effectiveness.
- Testing two versions of a signup page for an event to see which one receives more signups.
The study can take place either physically or online depending on what works best for your needs, but please keep in mind that the students are located in Vancouver, B.C. Click here to download an example of student work.
