Using secondary research, groups review and evaluate the organization's business idea, including a review of the problem that the idea solves and analyses of the situation and of competitors.

Using primary* and secondary research, as applicable, groups conduct a feasibility study based on the Business Model Canvas, which reviews the nine building blocks, which support the business idea and determine its feasibility.

Using PowerPoint, the top three groups deliver their business plan pitches (15 minutes each) and submit their comprehensive business plans in report format.

Recruit senior-level diploma learners from George Brown College's Schools of Accounting and Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and Management as your learner-consultants in a project-based experience. During the semester, learners and/or the instructor will connect with you, as needed, using virtual conferencing tools to exchange information in the development of a comprehensive business plan .
Learners in this program/experience will learn the concepts and principles of Canadian entrepreneurship and small business management. Starting with evaluating a business opportunity, learners will apply research from competitive analyses and concepts from marketing, finance, legal, human resources, and operations, to develop and present a detailed business plan that includes a cash flow forecast and a pro-forma income statement that's suitable for new start-ups seeking financing.
Learners
Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the learners with those of the organization.
Some final project deliverables may include:
- Presentations by top three groups (10-15 minutes each) on key aspects of respective business plans.
- Accompanying business plans, including groups' research, analysis, insights and recommendations.

Project Examples
Requirements
Groups consisting of 4-5 learners will work with your organization to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.
Project activities that learners complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate the business idea/opportunity.
- Use Business Model Canvas to complete a feasibility study and provide recommendations based on research findings.
- Comply with legal requirements while adhering to high ethical standards.
- Develop a marketing plan, including implementation steps.
- Design an operational plan to track and measure deliverables.
- Build a comprehensive business plan, including a cash flow forecast and pro-forma income statement to support finance applications at FI and/or Futurpreneur
