Bio

I’m an engineer, innovator, and entrepreneur passionate about building high-impact solutions that push the boundaries of technology. My focus is on 10x innovation—creating breakthroughs rather than incremental improvements. From AI-driven applications to sustainable technology, I love exploring how we can reimagine industries for the future.

At Queen’s University, I study Applied Mathematics and Computer Engineering, specializing in software engineering, information systems, and data engineering. My work spans machine learning, AI, and full-stack development, and I’m constantly experimenting with new ideas—whether through startups, research, or engineering competitions. I founded Id8 (Ideate) to build a community of unconventional thinkers, and my AI-powered drunk driving detection system won the Mayor of Kingston Innovation Award. I also founded a job board (Juploy.com) and I'm currently working on a developer tool (heida.app).

Beyond engineering, I love baseball, hiking, philosophy, sci-fi, and creative problem-solving. Fluent in English and Mandarin, I bring a global mindset to everything I do. My goal is simple: build things that matter, challenge the status quo, and create technology that drives real change.

Automated Code Generation for User Interfaces on Embedded Devices

The project focuses on developing a machine learning model to automate the generation of code for embedded user interfaces. The primary goal is to streamline the workflow between design and development by predicting and producing code from input data, such as screenshots and API data extracted from design files. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between design and development, enhancing efficiency in creating embedded systems. By automating the code generation process, the project seeks to reduce manual coding efforts, minimize errors, and accelerate the development timeline. The project will provide learners with an opportunity to apply their knowledge of machine learning, embedded systems, and UI design in a practical setting. The tasks involved are closely related and can be completed by a team of learners specializing in computer science or software engineering.

AI-Driven Predictive Maintenance for Data Centers

The Predictive Maintenance for Data Centers project aims to create an AI-driven solution to address the operational challenges of modern data centers. By utilizing advanced deep learning techniques, specifically Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), the project seeks to enhance real-time monitoring and predictive analytics capabilities. The goal is to enable proactive maintenance of critical data center infrastructure, thereby reducing downtime and improving efficiency. This project provides learners with an opportunity to apply their knowledge of AI and machine learning in a practical setting, focusing on the development of predictive models that can analyze vast amounts of data to forecast potential failures. The project emphasizes the importance of integrating AI solutions into existing systems to optimize performance and reliability.
